Zendala Dare

"Happy" is the theme for this weeks Dare, and I'm so glad to have Erin back on board!!
I was going ok with painting the background, but rather fell in a heap when I decided to use the letters of 'happy' for the choice of tangles to use. They just didn't seem to flow. Another problem arose when I used the soft Prismacolour pencils as opposed to my usual harder Prisma Verithins for shading. Anyway, I think maybe the colours are "happy" if not the detail.
I thought about my previous picture of tangled houses and wondered how I could "loosen up", so tried the idea of drawing a scribble, then planting the houses on the string. I quite enjoyed doing this but I don't think I succeeded in loosening up at all! Then decided to do black and white surrounds.

  2. I'm quite stunned by these beautiful pieces, Anne. The Zendala is gorgeous - how can you be so hard on yourself?? And I love the houses one too - everything is just so well done.
