Diva Challenge #170 and another project

This weeks Challenge is to use the tangle "Bugles" by Joyce Evans.
While working on this tile, I wondered what I could do that I haven't done before, so thought I'd make a black area and work in white over the top. I was quite pleased with the result. The pen flowed freely and provided a nice contrast to "Bugles".

My next "Project" was inspired by Margaret Bremner - thanks Margaret, I hope you don't mind. I absolutely love her 'house' tangle pictures. Mind you, I love all her work, and have learnt such a lot from following her talented artistry. My little picture is not as vibrant as hers, but I'm happy with it and I can work on 'loosening up!'

  1. Your tile is very pretty and the houses are beautiful! Thanks for sharing the idea of first making a black spot.

  2. Your Bugle tile is great...but I LOVE your houses (and yes, I've seen Margaret's, too.) They're quite different from hers, actually, but in their own way just as lovely.

  5. The black center adds just the right amount of weight and balance to the other more open tangles - will have to remember to use that as a starting point. Too often I'm looking to add weight/balance at the end and it gets messy. Thanks for the suggestion

  7. The white on black worked out very well. I like how it all turned out. Good Job. I've never seen anything like your houses before. I love them. The Houses would look fabulous enlarged and hung on a wall, any wall, my wall. Good job.

  8. such delicious contrast on your page Anne - the stark contrast of black and white in your Bugle tile this week, and the juicy vibrancy of colours in your houses. I adore your house drawings, they should be in a children's book, so very very well done xx
