Diva Challenge #234 Use new tangle "CanT "

Chris Titus has given us a new tangle pattern called CanT, echoing  her blog's name which is CanTangle!!
I decided to apply some colour and some variations to the exercise.

For those just entering the world of Zentangle, I thought I would share what I often do when a new tangle comes out and is worked with by those who possess inspiring and very skilful technical abilities. I have learnt an enormous amount from Margaret Bremner whose blog is http://enthusiasticartist.blogspot.com. I thoroughly enjoyed her blog last week with her variations on "Zenith". I copied as an exercise some of her artwork, of course not nearly as competent, and being lazy, not bothering to rule anything up, somehow my rows fall down at the end. This serves as a good resource for when I'm serious about a new work.

A recent swap on Facebook required us to do some "Inchies and Twinchies". Here is my collection ready to post out !

  3. Love what you did with CanT! (Although CanTangle is not my blog. It was the retreat where I came up with my CanT tangle.).

  8. I think you captured the spirit of Can T in your tile. To me, it harkens back to patchwork quilts.Nice.

  10. I love the soft colors you used on your CanT tile and your Inchies/Twinchies. Really so pretty! I also agree with you that Margaret Bremner is such an inspiration - a hero really! I have tried to copy her technique of flipping the dark and light sections at the string line, but mine never quite works out. She is definitely a master. It looks like you are picking up lots of tips from her work. Thanks for sharing all of this!

  12. It's nice that you like to play with tangles and find out what they can do. You are correct in that Margaret is a great CZT to emulate. Your work is so pretty.

  14. I was going to write, "Ooooh look at all your variations of Zenith!!!" then I saw my own name there! :P

I want to correct one of your notes however. That's not Eye-Wa. It's just a lot of "white circles in a line with a black background" that I tend to do a lot! You can find Eye-Wa here: http://tanglepatterns.com/2010/05/how-to-draw-eye-wa.html

I like your colored variations of CanT. It's fun to play with. May I suggest leaving your sectional dividing lines in pencil rather than drawing them in ink? There would be more mystery and interest in the flow of the changes.
