I couldnt wait to get my laptop (still not even looked at yet) back after doing the challenge last night. I rummaged around and found the cd to load my printer onto hubs laptop so I could do some scanning. So hoorah some pickies! Challenge was a duo tangle of Cirquital and Munchin.

Catch up
.
Very excited today to have scored 10,000 page views!! Quite encouraging. Many thanks to my viewers.
Unfortunately I am without my laptop at the moment, so cant post any tangling or art work. But once I have it back from the IT doctor there'll be plenty to show. I have completed two more canvas tangles for the Art teacher's exhibition in May. My latest was 3'square. I created it at the newly formed Drouin art group. Some were taken in by the tangles and can't wait to learn how to zentangle!! I plan on going biggerer and biggerer!!
Had fun with my 11's this week. We made special effects with inks. Once dry they are to fill in white areas with tangles. Great to be able to employ tangles into my art course. I think Art teaching must be the most fun job in education!!

Calendar..4 pages and paradox
Hi all, I've been a busy lady. I have FOUR calendar pages to post today!!I planned to post them when I post Diva's challenge but that's still being created, so here they are. Last two I had some fun with paradox!
The first one I was inspired by Margaret Bremner's idea of using an apple corer!!
I drew a wobbly oval-ish shape across the middle of the spaces, then dividing up into sections to tangle this page.
Used paradox as a border on this page, then did 'tangling in a tangle'!

Challenge 58 and Calendar
Diamonds are our focus this week, while folk raise money for PEDIATRIC CANCER.
The Four Diamonds Fund was started by Charles and Irma Millard after their son, Christopher, lost his 3 year battle with cancer in 1972. Symbolic of the traits Christopher felt were needed to defeat cancer, he wrote a story in which the knight Sir Millard overcomes obstacles to achieve the four diamonds of Courage, Wisdom, Honesty and Strength.

At last I am up to date with calendar, BUT I am worried about next week cos I will need to work an extra 3 days to replace another art teacher going on a school camp! I am also worried about the time I'm putting in to doing zentangles!! Does anyone else feel like that?? Last night when I couldnt get to sleep I found myself working on the calendar!!
To make a difference this week , I thought I would do a coloured square with black and white either side to see how that looked. For the string I used the letters M,O,and N, extending the lines a bit. I was pleased with this one, bit more focused that last one ha ha.

Calendar and more exploring
Finished another trial of materials last night. On this mini canvas (4"x4"x1") I used Sharpie fine markers. Bit frustrating when the red didnt last very long, but otherwise they were ok, nice and bright and fine enough for a dgree of detail. I made no attempt to add shading as I felt it wasnt needed. Bit of fun.
I am a bit reticient to put my calendar page on as its really bit of a mess! I tried to do a large flowing grid with tangles that needed a grid. The perspective wasn't right and I did it too quickly. The colour improved things but still a failure. Part of the process of learning hey. Looks like a patchwork bedspread!!

EXPLORING NEW MATERIALS FOR TANGLES
I have tried going smaller in size via my "inchies", which I loved doing, this time I wanted to "go bigger", see how I would go using a marker on canvas (2' x 2"), and micron on matt board (6 1/2" x 91/2")
Result? I found the canvas easy to work on and the same for the matt board. I could work quite quickly on the canvas, but the shading was difficult using a black coloured pencil. Later I purchased a conte (hard pressed pastel/charcoal) pencil which worked more effectively.
I made some an uneven line on the matt board tangle which I then tried to "fix". Not sure it worked but guess its all part of the process of learning hey!

So..after I complete a second 2x2 canvas, am I brave enough to try a bigger canvas? I do like the idea, sounds fun.

Calendar and challenge #57
Diva's challenge for this week is to use the tangle 'sanibelle' byTricia Faraone. This time I felt like some colour, planning to use watercolours. On second thought I didnt think it wise as hubby recently purchased a new lounge suite and he was sitting next to me! It wouldnt look good having paints and water around me, so reverted to markers!Unfortunately I hadnt used them for ages, so some parts are a bit messy. "No mistakes" though !! Its a bit of a fun piece. I tell my students "Art has to be fun otherwise dont bother!!" What do you think?
Although I have started back at work, I seem to have rolled ahead on the calendar, now I'm ahead!! This time I chose to do linear tangles. I wonder what I will come up with next time?? Thanks to all who have sent me encouraging comments, they are very precious.

CALENDAR CATCH UP
Its good to start work teaching again and to know I am not behind any more with the calendar. Not sure how long that will last but its a start. So I have 3 pages to post today.
In the first I used the dates for the string, and the last one I had a go at drawing the tangles which are circular. As I went to upload them I realised I hadnt turned them, but thought they may fit better like that!
