AEDM#8 RED ZIA

The other day I went to a framing shop and found a cute one for $1! It has 3 square frame spaces well suited to zentangles though a bit smaller than 90 x 90 cms. The first design  for this little frame I'm using  for AEDM#8.

I used a tile which had been colour-washed, a N0.1 Micron then shaded with coloured pencil.

AEDM#7 ART Poster

With Open Studio day coming up on Sunday, I made a poster to put outside and on a few lamposts. I did the black and white in Draw Plus on A4 then photocopied it to A3. Last night I coloured it in using my Prismacolours. Today I'll get some copies made for the lamposts. For the border I used my Giotto tangle. Very useful. I started to do gradient on the Welcome but decided it would take too long so just did flat colour. That took 3 hrs anyway!! I found when the photo was on the screen , it wasn't as coloured in as I thought!! Nevermind, I thought it could be a good piece for day 7.

I used split comp scheme orange-yellow, yellow-green and purple. Watercolour pencils.
Bit late today after watching the Melbourne Cup! "The race that stops a nation".  Fantastic.

AEDM#5 zendala#30 linework

My AEDM for today is this weeks zendala dare #30. So far in line only, will colour it for tomorow. Not a lot of spare time at the moment as I am getting my place ready for "Open Studios" next Sunday. First job was to get my front door approach colourful. Yesterday had massive fun buying flowers, most "bloomers"..no, not with underwear, but means they are in flower! So despite a hot day, I managed to get all out front planted, except for the hanging basket - I'd run out of potting mix by then. Will take some photos later.

Managed to get this finished for Art Everyday Month #4. used split comp cols purple, blue and orange-yellow. Now to attack ZD#30!!

AEDM#3 and zendala dare 29 to colour

I nearly didn't post this it's such a mess, but then that's the path of the artist hey! I wanted to keep exploring Bunzo but instead I think I murdered it! If anyone should look at it at least they'll think "Oh yeah, I can do better than that " and be all encouraged, ha, ha! I continued to play with Inktense pencils, but made a mess of that too. Oh dear. I do like my bird in the top corner though. Ha ha..a bunzo bird!!

Another thing I continued to work on was  zendala dare #29. I have created just the line work here, if anyone wanted to colour it in you are welcome. My next job is to colour with one of my split complementary colour schemes I havent used yet.
