Chris Titus has given us a new tangle pattern called CanT, echoing her blog's name which is CanTangle!!
I decided to apply some colour and some variations to the exercise.
For those just entering the world of Zentangle, I thought I would share what I often do when a new tangle comes out and is worked with by those who possess inspiring and very skilful technical abilities. I have learnt an enormous amount from Margaret Bremner whose blog is http://enthusiasticartist.blogspot.com. I thoroughly enjoyed her blog last week with her variations on "Zenith". I copied as an exercise some of her artwork, of course not nearly as competent, and being lazy, not bothering to rule anything up, somehow my rows fall down at the end. This serves as a good resource for when I'm serious about a new work.
A recent swap on Facebook required us to do some "Inchies and Twinchies". Here is my collection ready to post out !

ZENITH!
How wonderful to have arrived at last at our Spring after our wettest winter for 20 years! I am amazed at how glorious the rhodies and camellias look! Sad that the camellias are about to leave us!!
This week we have been asked by Laura (welcome back!!)to see what we can do with Rick and Maria's new pattern "Zenith" My contribution below.

CURVELINEAR!! Diva Challenge . Revisiting Camelia
Asked this week to work on new or old patterns with S or C curves, and have some fun developing them with auras galore. So I thought I'd have some fun with my pattern "Camelia" (step outs included) I called these "Cameliarella"
I found this challenge quite addictive and wanted to try all sorts of things as you will see below.
My first exercise was on some bookmark cards I had over from a recent swap. I just let things develop as they will.
From there I used a micron fine liner on white tile, gradually adding more and more lines, and some circles. Im having fun here!
Why not try a Renaissance tile ? This one turned out way more dramatic than I expected. Having the white highlights really gave a lift.
From thee I shaded one of the white tiles. I think I liked the Renaissance tile best. How about you??

Diva Challenge #229 Negative space
Being one to usually crowd a tile with work, this week's challenge is a good one for me. I didn't begin with a string but thought I'd just let it "grow".
I could't leave it at that though, I wanted to add colour, so I erased the shading then had fun with markers, but keeping things subdued.

Diva Challenge #227 Circus
I made a few booboos this time! I happily worked away on the "Circus " challenge and was quite happy with my result. THEN I discovered I should have used certain tangle patterns! Duh! as Im going away again, I don't have time to do another one, so I will unashamedly post what I have done.
At the end of last weeks' blog I suggested folk try the colour scheme I have used, aqua, red and lime green. If you tried it, let me know. and a big thank you to all who posted such encouraging comments last week, they mean a lot.
Other work under creation for my swap friends has been a challenge of one colour, 3 tangles.
..and I have just finished the watercolour ATC swap.

Diva Challenge #226 "Simplicity"
I've been away for a few days in the city of Melbourne and it has been cold and wet. When I left today it was 8 degrees centigrade! But I have been keeping up with my tangles, and have a few to share tonight now I am back on my laptop.
This weeks' challenge to use two or three tangles and white space was an enjoyable task, and I liked the result, particularly as I'm prone to fill a tile every time!! I wasn't sure about the shading so I've included both.
I think it must be the most minimal I have ever done.
Here's another tile where I attempted to create some white space.
For those who are struggling with colouring tangles, i'd like to give you a challenge to use the colours red, aqua and lime green together and let me know what you think. Shades and tints allowed.
Happy tangling!

Another challenge I worked on was a monotangle using Coaster, and an artwork for my tangle "Euca"
